The MILAH volunteer project is publicized widely and has grown tremendously since its initial conception. To ensure that we can continue to provide this much needed service, we rely heavily on committed individuals to give of their time to assist us.
IF YOU HAVE…
…THEN WE WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
If you wish to take part and contribute to this unique project, please contact Dina for an interview.
Please note:
Volunteers for this project are required to attend special workshops to further their understanding of new Olim and their needs. The subjects of these workshops include: volunteering and its’ aims, how to lead meetings (to develop skills of empathy, listening, empowerment etc.), background to the type of cases we receive, how to write resumes and official letters, insights into cultural and communication difficulties that may arise, strategies for working with new Olim, and examination of different cultural norms and practices.
The teachers who volunteer to give private lessons in conjunction with this project attend workshops on teaching Hebrew as a second language to students with different levels of competency.
